FAQs
When does the league play games?
The 18+ division plays weekend games (Saturday or Sunday) for a 12-game season plus playoffs. Games are 9 innings, with no new inning starting after 2:40. No doubleheaders are scheduled. A 30+ weeknight division (Tuesday–Thursday) is in our plans for 2027.
How much does it cost to play?
Register for the full season. Registration for 2027 isn’t open yet — leave your name and we’ll email you the day it is. A flat season fee reserves your roster spot all summer, and is required for MSBL/MABL national tournament play.
Do I need to create my own team?
No. You can form a team with friends or register individually — the league conducts tryouts and a draft to place individual players on teams. Teams are encouraged to secure their own sponsorships to offset uniform and equipment costs.
What equipment do I need?
You’ll need a fielding glove, a wood or composite-wood bat (max -3), a batting helmet, and a full team-matching uniform (hat, jersey, pants). Metal or plastic cleats both work. Teams may share equipment like catcher’s gear. The league provides and maintains game balls — and league members get 20% off Rawlings and Easton gear at Blades APA (in-stock items).
Where can my team practice?
The league can’t authorize Memorial Field for practices, so teams arrange their own facilities. Players who pay the additional registration fee get access to the Blades APA Indoor Training Facility — batting cages and strength area — weekdays 6am–3pm and weekends 6am–10pm, February through May.
How do I become a team manager?
Email the league at flatheadadultbaseball@gmail.com. Managers handle team equipment, field setup, lineups, and scorebook submission. Managers can play in games too, but don’t have to.
How do I become an umpire?
We need two umpires per game and pay $100 per umpire, per game. If you’re qualified, email flatheadadultbaseball@gmail.com.
